Do you guys know what’s B2B and B2C?

B2B is basically a Business selling its product or service to another Business, for example, Dell company selling a bulk of computers to a software company, or D-mart buying stocks of groceries, etc.

Now B2C is all about Business selling directly to the consumer. As simple as D-mart selling their products to their walk in customers, where the customer is the end user.

So the way you market your products or services, does it differ in both cases?

When you’re selling to another business, you’re not just selling a product. You’re offering a solution to a business problem.

When you’re selling to a consumer, it’s all about emotion and desire. You’re selling a lifestyle, not just a product.

Both the receiving parties aim for value for their investment. However, the consumer buys the product or service for himself, whereas a business would buy for the whole company to utilize the product or service and earn revenue based on its efficiency.

This is also why a company would make a purchase decision based on multiple stakeholders’ acceptance which would take a long while, whereas a normal consumer would make this decision in a few minutes, by himself.

In simple words, For B2B, you aim to build a long term trust with the business, show them facts and numbers to prove that your product or service is valuable and can earn them money, and how your product will give back to them in terms of return on investment.

For B2C, you need to aim at making the consumer want to buy your product. Focus on making your product look amazing and desirable because it needs to attract the consumer himself.

Repeating this again, B2B is about logic, ROI and relationships, while B2C is about emotion and desire.

B2B vs. B2C is ROI vs. Customer satisfaction

Go ahead, all the best!
