Hello there! From one universe to another! Imagine closing your eyes to see a whole
new world, where you meet and talk to your friends who are miles away in reality…
No, I’m not talking about dreams here. Have you heard of the Metaverse?
It’s all about landing in a virtual world, where you can interact, socialize and share knowledge, ideas, and communicate through Virtual Reality.
Now Virtual Reality in simple words is a reality created virtually. It would basically mean entering a 3D world inside a computer, where you can interact with other people like you online, and in real time! Interesting right?
On this virtual ground you can create your own avatar, meet new avatars, roam around, and even work or play as a team! So you are given the benefits of styling your avatar, working a job, earn in the game, and even utilize that virtual money to buy yourself a virtual home and other things in the game. It basically imitates the real world.
Remember, the metaverse isn’t a single, unified platform. Different versions can be created by different creators and/or companies. It will evolve with time.
So why stop at games? What if we can use the metaverse for marketing? Let people know the presence of your product through this virtual base.
Let me give a small example.
Let’s say you own a juice company, and you want to launch a new flavor juice.
What if you create a mini metaverse game, You can showcase factors in the game like the sun is bright, and it’s extra hot for the characters, or the character could be hungry. Then you could have a few original game characters who would casually interact with the players and recommend your new flavored juice to try.
What if this could be a way you launch your product online, and also show how your product could benefit people, by displaying positive reactions from the players’ avatars.
Here’s another example which is probably in use already.
Many online clothing retailers and fashion platforms offer virtual try-on features that allow customers to see how an outfit would look on them without physically trying it on. What if we could add this feature in a metaverse, and let people have their characters try on their favorite outfits, and actually get to buy them for real life!
This sounds even better when you own a bespoke boutique, and let people design their outfits, and you bring them to reality and deliver it to them in real life!
Well all this is just a thought. But who knows, just a thought can become an idea and can take us a long way!
